Blackcurrants are rich in antioxidants, including anthocyanins known for their anti-inflammatory andprotective benefits. Clinical trials have demonstrated consuming blackcurrant powder, juice and extract increases performance and recovery in endurance exercise. Blackcurrant juice has also been shown to lower lactate levels, improving recovery and increasing bloodflow for cardiovascular function, while other studies have shown it can improve performance during HUT.2
