I have always thought of running as the ultimate in simplicity. The innate action of putting one foot in front of the other at slightly faster than walking pace. Just lace up your trainers, get out the door and go. If you want to go further, run further. If you want to go faster, try harder.

What I’d never done – despite happily spending countless hours researching the benefits of yet another pair of potentially game changing trainers – is invest much time considering how I actually run. I was fairly sure I was doing it right. After all, I’d been running around pretty much all of my life. Yet, after spending just two hours with the incredibly enthusiastic Shane Benzie, I knew I would never run the same way again.
