Guess where answer (from page 67): Khartoum, Sudan
Every week, Nubian wrestlers compete at the Haj Youssef stadium on the outskirts of the Sudanese capital Khartoum, an event that attracts large crowds. Practised for centuries, the sport remains an integral part of Nubian culture. Historically, wrestlers would fight naked, covered in ash. Although they now wear t-shirts and shorts, fighters still cover their bodies in ash to aid grip. They challenge each other by pointing at a prospective opponent and performing a short dance to indicate their wish to fight. Each bout lasts four minutes. To win, they must grapple their opponent to the ground. For more information about Khartoum, go to www.kenya-airways.com/en-ke/flights-to-khartoum
