Sriharikota, India—It was a milestone 25 years in the making. On June 5, India’s Space Research Organization launched a powerful rocket off this island in the country’s southeast. The rocket carried a satellite that India’s space agency says will help it with future missions. The country hopes it will eventually put a human into space, which only the Americans, Russians and Chinese have done.
