Tehran, Iran— Supporters of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani celebrate his re-election on May 20. Rouhani campaigned on a platform pledging that he would continue to open Iran’s sluggish economy to international markets and expand personal freedom. “The landslide victory gives Rouhani a mandate he did not have during his first term,” Clif Kupchan, chairman of political risk company Eurasia Group, told The Washington Post. “He’ll remain a centrist [but] will be more aggressive in pursuing reforms.”
