Rio de Janeiro— U.S Olympic swimmer Jack Conger leaves police headquarters at Galeão International Airport on August 18 after he and Gunnar Bentz were pulled off a flight to be questioned about fellow swimmer Ryan Lochte’s claim that they and one other U.S. swimmer, James Feigen, were held up by armed men dressed as police. Brazilian authorities found no evidence of a robbery. Instead, police accused the four of making up the story to cover up their vandalizing a gas station. Lochte, who left Brazil before he could be questioned, apologized but insisted that he merely “over-exaggerated” what happened.
