Ferry for Treslaig.
■ Two local ladies go to one another’s house on alternate Thursdays for coffee and a chat. So I suppose it had to happen… Last Thursday, they passed each other while driving on the Blar. One was waving and the other was gesticulating through the windscreen. Aye, one of them had forgotten she was the home hostess for the day.
■ Hitchhiker standing on the Blar, across from Lochaber High, bearing a small blackboard on which was chalked ‘LOCHAILORT PLEASE’. Very enterprising, I thought. Obviously, when he got to Lochailort he’d rub out that destination, and write in Mallaig or Glenuig, or wherever. Then it struck me again that, complete with blackboard, he was seeking the prospective Lochailort lift from outside the High School. Surely he couldn’t have been a member of staff?
