THE OUTER Hebrides Community Planning Partnership’s (OHCPP) Draft Gaelic Policy is out for consultation. OHCPP recognises Gaelic is an integral part of Scotland’s heritage, national identity and cultural life, and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the Gaelic language and its use. At its meeting on November 22, 2017, the board agreed it would be appropriate for the OHCPP to have its own Gaelic policy to complement the policies of individual partners. A draft policy was submitted to the board on March 16 seeking its approval to publish for public consultation. The public are invited to make any final comments and suggestions by 27 April 27 to ohcpp@cne-siar.gov.uk and any feedback will be considered by the OHCPP in May when it approves the finalised Gaelic Policy. Visit www.ohcpp.org.uk for more information and to access the draft.
