The pain being felt by the MacLeod family on Barra, whose daughter Eilidh was killed in the Manchester Arena bombing, remains beyond the imagination. And the desperate concern is still all too fresh and raw for the MacIntyre family, whose daughter Laura was seriously injured in the horrific events.
Eilidh’s parents spoke emotionally and from the heart this week in paying fulsome and fitting tribute to their beloved daughter. However, as well as talking so eloquently about Eilidh, they were also extremely generous in their comments about the emergency services and the support from the people of Manchester and across the world.
Likewise, the MacIntyres spoke openly about the dreadful injuries suffered by Laura and of her fight to recover in hospital. They, too, thanked those in the emergency services who helped in the aftermath.
