OUR story reporting Labour MSP Rhoda Grant criticising the SNP government for its budget allocation to Highlands and Islands Enterprise prompted considerable reaction. Gus Laurenson said: ‘The cuts come from Wasteminster!! You represent a party in disarray with no direction or leadership and criticise the Scottish National Party (SNP) for London’s austerity measures. Dugdale and Davidson are just puppets to their London masters and do nothing for Scotland.’
John Kerr bemoaned: ‘Doesn’t matter which party holds the purse strings there will be a lot more and worse cuts coming due to #deficit and #brexit grow up and smell the coffee and get ready for whats coming over the next couple of years..It’s going to get worse...Oh and happy Christmas.’ Stephen Fair posted: ‘And nothing whatsoever to do with repeatedly reduced block grants from Westminster to the Scottish Government?’
дoHaЛa Mopͷc wrote: ‘Let’s ignore the cuts from Westminster and pretend we can do the same with less money. Grant actually voted for this.’ Davie Mcv le Eldest said: ‘Get yerfacts right hen or say nothing at all westminister is the abcess of scotland. Margaret thatcher was asked in an interview what her biggest achievment was She coldly replied Gordon brown & tony blair. Tony blair isnt facing war crime charges on the strength of that relationship but thats none eh ma buisness.’
