Days gone by – 1960s

This week we turn the clock back to the 1960s – though we are unsure of the precise year – and the Oban High School second XI football team, captained by Davie Buchanan, today the long-serving secretary of Oban Saints FC. The full line-up of aspiring young players is, standing, left to right, Alex T Fleming, Ian Donn, Richard A Davidson, Leslie G MacPherson, Charles Millar, Alistair W Douglas and John A Carmichael; sitting, William O’Brien, John Plunkett, Kenneth Campbell, David Buchanan, Sandy Cameron and Nigel J Evans.
