Irecently became one of the millions of people who’ve viewed one of Adriene Mishler’s Yoga with Adriene videos on YouTube. In this particular video, her dog Benji falls asleep while she practices, wakes up and wanders of while she’s in the middle of an asana.
Although the video is obviously produced to a high standard, practicing while watching Yoga with Adriene really does feel like you’re in a class with your favourite, 30-something teacher. She’s funny, irreverent and says ‘awesome’ a lot. But she clearly knows what she’s talking about. This is just how she is in conversation.
I caught up with Adriene on what passes for a day of for her. She was reading letters from her fans, doing interviews, taking conference calls and preparing for an event that evening.
I began by asking her how she got into yoga.
