Chakras: an introduction Part 8 of 9 - anja chakra
Yoga therapist Sarah Swindlehurst continues a nine-month exploration of the chakras
Sarah Swindlehurst / Mulliner is the founder of The Yogic Prescription (
theyogicprescription.com)
NAME: Anja Chakra (meaning ‘perception’)
LOCATION: Centre of forehead, slightly above the eyebrow centre
COLOUR: Indigo
LOKA (Plane): Tapoloka (plane of austerity)
TATTVA (Element): Dark & Light
MANDALA: Two petals, a circle within and a triangle symbol pointing downwards. The seed sound symbol can be seen in the centre of the mandala. The two petals represent the frequency at which the chakra spins and are said to be seen by clairvoyant vision – each chakra spins faster the further up the spine they are located. This chakra spins at such a great speed that those with clairvoyant vision can only make out two petals showing. The circle represents wholeness or totality and depicts the principle of no beginning and no end (e.g. time). The triangle shape indicates the movement of energy downwards from spiritual levels above. Sending downwards the energy of consciousness and all knowing.
