“Suffering as I do from osteoarthritis in multiple joints and extreme muscle stiffness (such that I’d stopped all other forms of exercise and was even avoiding walking because of the pain in my knees) it’s no exaggeration to say the increase in mobility and the resulting decrease in joint pain I have experienced since I started practicing Fierce Grace with Michele Pernetta four years ago has been nothing short of life changing.
I still need to be very careful about what I do because being prone to arthritis means new problems can flare up in any area at any time - for instance I avoid impact sports like running, football and so on - but my knees are no longer a problem at all and I no longer avoid walking because of them.
When I began hot yoga I had pain in both knees attributable to age-related degeneration of the meniscus, one of which I had surgery on and one I didn’t. I also had a Morton’s neuroma in my right f oot which was very painful (and f or which I was offered surgery to shorten one of the bones on my feet) and a persistent pain in my neck f or which I was also offered surgery.
