Meet the plant-based couple fighting back against diabetes and cancer

Married couple Steph and Glenn haven’t had an ‘easy ride’ through life – with one being diagnosed with diabetes at an early age and the other suffering from cancer. They needed to find a way to cope with their symptoms and to help tackle their lifechanging diseases – that’s when they turned to plant-based eating. We caught up with Steph and Glenn to discuss their journey…
When were you diagnosed?
In 1978, when I was in early adolescence, I was told I was type 1 diabetic; but I didn’t really know at the time how that would affect my life. From this point on I suffered lethargy, weight loss and I didn’t heal very quickly when I got cuts or grazes, which as a child wasn’t exactly ideal.
Glenn was diagnosed around September 2017, with bladder cancer.
