Professional Photo Magazine Issue 189 Edizione posteriore

It felt entirely appropriate in this, our latest digital issue, to have a focus on green issues, as we all start to look closer at the effect we’re having on the planet we share. With COP26 throwing a spotlight on it all right now, we’ve got a major feature in this issue looking at how professional photographers can focus on their own footprint and, as a result, make their services more attractive to discerning clients.

Along the same lines we’re featuring astro photographer Josh Dury in this month’s Portfolio feature and he’s seen first hand how light pollution is destroying our dark skies and making it impossible to appreciate the awesome night sky that surrounds us. His way of drawing attention to the issue is to shoot remarkable nightscapes, where an iconic location, such as Durdle Door, is seen in the context of the universe beyond, and you can admire the beauty in his shots while appreciating what’s being lost.

Elsewhere in this issue we’re looking at the latest generation of location lights, both LEDs and flash, and marvelling at how light, efficient and totally transportable they are these days, while Richard Bradbury concludes his look at automotive photography by focusing on capturing great shots of cars in motion.

We’ve also got Matty Graham recalling times he’s had to consider whether a job is worth putting personal safety at risk, while Lisa Devlin has discovered medium format might well be a great choice for wedding photographers again. Another great line up of stories and enjoy reading!
