1 Be good at what you do. Whether it’s at your place of employment, your commitment and responsibilities towards friends, or at the local club you help run, make sure that you are great at your job. That doesn’t only mean meeting your deadlines or hitting targets because, to do your job really well, you must also achieve your aims with calmness and grace, without fuss or making unreasonable demands of other people. Don’t just do your job well on paper – do it well in terms of your interactions with other people, too.
