You know that exciting feeling you get when you go into a curiosity shop and, as your eyes dart from an Art Deco cocktail cabinet and French leather club chair to a vintage mannequin and enamel advertising sign, you just have to take it all home? Rather like discovering treasure - that’s what Reclaim magazine loves.
Offering an alternative to the mass produced, Reclaim magazine celebrates dealers, traders, interior designers and makers who choose to work with reclaimed materials, vintage and antiques; unusual items with backstory. From decorative salvage and vintage industrial furniture to mid-century design, upcycled lighting and intriguing antiques, Reclaim salutes not just an exciting interiors trend, but a way of life.
Across the pages of this, our first issue, you’ll discover inspiration on where to look for the finest reclaimed and reinvented objects, from the luxurious at LASSCO (London’s Architectural Salvage Co) to the weird and wonderful at one of Britain’s best-known salvage yards, Wells Reclamation. We showcase the work of talented designer Zoe Murphy, who transforms furniture destined for the skip into highly desirable artworks, as well as the couple in Cornwall who handcraft wonderful ‘tin tabernacles’ using beautiful reclaimed materials.
There’s painstaking period property restoration with The Landmark Trust and eclectic interior design at Voewood House in Norfolk; the London bicycle company who restore vintage bikes and a chat with TV presenter and queen of upcycling, Charis Williams.  From a glimpse into the contacts book of a props buyer who sourced items for ITV’s period drama Mr Selfridge, to a guide on ‘vintiquing’ in Paris, we hope Reclaim magazine will inspire you to create a unique and sustainable living space. A home that tells stories.

Great magazine, expensive in print

Saw this at Barnes + Noble and was intrigued by the upcycle / reuse message of the magazine, without having that shabby chic or "clearly this used to be a cereal box" aesthetic you see in a lot of upcycle magazines. Decided to look up a subscription but the print one was very expensive to ship to the US. I prefer print magazines but I really wanted to try out Reclaim so went for digital. Looking forward to my year of trendy / elegant upcycle ideas! Recensito 30 dicembre 2021

Up-cycle heaven

An inspiring read for anyone that is sick of same same Ikea furniture!!! Packed with ideas that are actually achievable. Salvaging old pieces of furniture and styling your home uniquely without spending a fortune. Loads of pictures, love it. Recensito 10 luglio 2019
