Christmas time, mistletoe and wine, followed by lengthy inquests into why England failed to win the World Cup again. Can you believe it is fifty years since the first Rugby League games were played on a Sunday. We take them for granted now, but they caused quite a stir in 1967. We look back to those early experimental days when Rugby League once again broke the sporting mould. In contrast, you might think it sounds crackers to play on Christmas Day, but it’s a forgotten tradition that only died out in the 1970s. Find out more inside.
