1 Buddy-up with your pharmacist

You probably know your GP offers free NHS Health Checks if you’re aged 40-74, measuring blood pressure, blood sugar levels and cholesterol. ‘Many pharmacists offer the same check for free and you might find the appointment times more convenient,’ says pharmacist Raj Patel from the Treat Yourself Better campaign. Lots of high-street pharmacies also offer checks to under 40s for a small fee – it’s a great way to monitor how much losing weight is helping your health.

2 Start scratching now!
