■ The successor to the 935, Garmin’s latest Forerunner gets a chunky, fibre-reinforced polymer plastic shell and super-stretchy silicone strap, which helps keep it comfy. What it doesn’t get is a touchscreen – just buttons.
■ The display is topped with Gorilla Glass DX to make it super-rugged, but the 240x240 resolution is a little disappointing. Still, that LCD screen barely uses any power – you’ll get up to two weeks in smartwatch mode. It’s also easy to read in the sun.
