Nick Poullis shares his experience of setting up and opening a gallery in which to sell his own watercolours
Gallery Interior, pencil, 10x12in (25.5x30.5cm)

Ihave been selling my paintings in one way or another since I was a teenager and since leaving university over 20 years ago I have made a living from selling watercolours.

In recent years I decided to sell work directly to the customer in France, where I live, and started exhibiting in free venues, which were often municipal. Since adopting this strategy I have become very well established and have been involved in many projects. In 2016 was given the title of Official Painter to the Office de Tourism of the town of Pezenas, and opened my own gallery for selling my own work during the summer season.
