I am probably not the first to say this, but modern trans-women are irrefutably some of the most courageous and patient women in the world. Thank goodness for this, because we need both courage and patience when planning to express our true gender whilst traveling by air. We certainly should never have to travel dressed as our birth-sex if we do not want to, unless perhaps doing so is paramount to our physical safety. However, it is not without reason that air-travel can be the most intimidating and risky mode of transportation for trans-women.
To safely express our true gender when traveling by air we must first know how to pass through airport security. We will be going up against a government’s Security Apparatus with it’s seemingly infinite number of turning and churning gears and wheels. Each and every gear and wheel has been specifically designed to protect us all from bad guys and contraband going where they are not supposed to go. Whether we agree or disagree with who are “bad” guys and what is contraband, it would be foolhardy not to respect a country’s security force.
