MANDY WRITES

The summer break in the Brentwood Parties seems to come around so quick. Fortunately we managed to plan our main family holiday to coincide, the trip abroad giving an excuse (should one be needed) for buying a new handbag - a reminder through the following year of the good time we had.

We did manage to arrange a night out in Essex on our return, and as a change to my usual format for this column I thought I would give you a rundown of my preparation for an evening out. I am very lucky to have such an understanding partner, which means some areas of transformation can be maintained all the while, such as the removal of body hair on hands and forearms which I keep down permanently with a quick razor-over in the shower every day. Nobody has ever questioned my lack of hair, and it draws less attention than having hair one day then not the next. Eyebrows is another area I keep groomed by having them shaped waxed and tinted once a month - the trick is to leave them alone in-between. So the first part of the preparation for the night is to put the chosen wig on a stand and lay clothes out ready. A wet facial shave before a long soak in a nice bubble bath comes next, with a quick shave of previously waxed legs, chest and shoulders. While getting dry, an opportunity to prepare a handbag for the evening with money keys etc, a fresh coat of basecoat on nails, and then a super close electric shaver over the face to make ready for makeup. Before starting with concealer and foundation, I would usually put on underwear, hosiery and shoes as this gives extra time to get used to the chosen heels. Then it’s on with the face, dress, jewellery and hair. I use a quick-drying nail colour. Left until nearly last reduces the chances of it chipping or smudging while getting ready, and the time needed to dry, lets the wig adjust to body temperature. So another 10 minutes, and it’s on with the coat, pick up the handbag and away.

WEDDING DRESS DREAMS
I think it might be right to say that as a Crossdresser, Transvestite, call us what you might, every girl at some point in her duel life yearns to become a beautiful bride be it just for a short while or in a very few cases the whole day. Obviously I knew I was ‘different’ when I was at primary school between the ages of 4 or 5. I was kind of aware of conformity i.e. knowing I feel like I should be doing ‘this’, when I knew I was expected to do ‘that’. But try explaining that to a 4-year-old back in 1965 when the ‘cure’ for trans issues was, to be picked up by the shoulders and given a damn good brain-rattling shaking and told to pull yourself together. Thank god for that huh? That really sorted me out. All that made me do was aspire to not let anyone have a grain of knowledge that I was transgendered
A day out at Ascot
The telephone call to my office from my lady friend E was not unusual. The content, however, was. E has minimal interest in sport, and was asking me if I had ever attended a horse racing meeting as a spectator; the answer to which was no.
