In what is now an extremely competitive market, the emphasis must be on providing guests with the best possible end-to-end experience, from the time they start looking at travelling to Africa all the way through to when they come home. In an age where the consumer wants an answer immediately, operators will need to invest in innovative and intuitive technology to process bookings seamlessly, along with adding personal touches to make their client perfect bespoke trips. Connecting products, operators and guests together with the use of technology will be key to efficient, hassle-free bookings in 2019.
Destinations on the rise include countries such as Congo, Chad, Central African Republic, Angola, Sudan and St Helena. While these are unlikely to become mainstream destinations, they do of er some once-in-a-lifetime experiences run by committed individuals who make a huge dif erence within the areas that they work. It is exciting to see new regions opening up.
