Keep up to date with all the latest vegan news, products and happenings

Plant-based food has become the biggest culinary trend of the decade with demand helping to boost the chilled vegetarian and vegan sector by 31%. Tesco’s latest launch of vegan products has put them at the top of the game, it now has one of the biggest selections of plant-based foods on the high street. The new Tesco Plant Chef range includes Butternut Cauli Mac (£2.50) made with macaroni pasta coated in sauce with cauliflower florets and diced butternut squash, Breaded Goujons (£2) made from seasoned soya in crunchy breadcrumbs, Battered Fish-Free Fillets (£3) also made from seasoned soya and coated in tempura batter, and Mushroom Pizza (£2.50) topped with garlic, spinach and aromatic herbs. To coincide with this latest release, Tesco is off ering dedicated plant-based and vegetarian zones in its stores. The plant-based foods will sit in the meat aisle, off ering flexitarians an immediate alternative and will later be expanded into other parts of the store.
