One Friday morning, Woodstock sanctuary director Kathy Keefe, received a panicked phone call from a concerned woman reporting that she’d discovered a goat in her house. She was hoping Kathy could come and rescue him and take him back to the sanctuary.
Established in 2004, Woodstock Farm Sanctuary in High Falls, New York, provides shelter to over 350 farmed animals including cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, sheep, goats and rabbits who have been rescued from cases of abuse, neglect and abandonment. Their work includes rescuing the animals, providing the inhabitants with care and sanctuary, and connecting people with animals to advance veganism while advocating for animal rights.
