AMY & BARRY

Amy Brechany, 32, a primary school teacher, and Barry Mochan, 36, a secondary school teacher, held their humanist ceremony at Pollokshield Burgh Hall in Glasgow, Scotland.

Budget: £12,000-£15,000

Floral budget: £1,000

Barry and I first met through work. We later got engaged when he presented me with a silver band engraved with ‘Marry me’ on Christmas Day. We then went out on Boxing Day to choose my engagement ring together.

We had a monochrome look on the day, accented with copper. We had sequin tablecloths, copper candlesticks, tea lights and spray-painted mason jars filled with posies. We decorated other parts of the room with white and copper tissue pom poms and garlands, as well as large balloons, and displayed the mason jars on sliced logs with a succulent head added on top. The colour palette of white, black and copper was highlighted by brightly coloured flowers in jewel tones, inspired by the floral bridesmaid dresses.
