Single beds are an increasingly popular layout in a coachbuilt motorhome. This issue in our Ultimate showdown we take no less than nine such models through their paces to work out which one offers the most. As you’ll see in the article and in the accompanying video, it’s a tough battle.

We also preview a van conversion from RP Sporthomes, a relatively new company based in Otley in West Yorkshire who seem to promise much for the future. We check out the latest in Swift’s Rio range, which are aimed at taking on van conversions by offering coachbuilts that are shorter, narrower, but this time come without a tailgate. And we take Pilote’s ultra-short Foxy Van on a spin through the Malvern Hills.

If it’s larger motorhomes you are after, we also take a look at the Hymer ML-I 620, a longer version of a ‘van we had on long-term test last year and really loved.

In our regular trips to dealer forecourts we take in a well-established family operation in the West Midlands and a dealership that is quite literally run by just one man. We’re certainly not afraid of taking in the widest of views to help you find your perfect motorhome.
