Triathlons are growing in popularity with runners, as more of us seek a new challenge. They also offer a great way to shake up your running and put any cross-training you might be doing to use.
Whatever your motivation for choosing to take on a triathlon, you’ll naturally have one of the swim, bike and run disciplines you prefer and are most confident at. The trick of training though is to focus on your weaknesses and not just your strength.
Fitting it all in
With running, cycling and swimming training to complete each week, you may fi nd it a bit of a juggle to fi t it all in. Finding ways to use your time creatively, such as running or cycling your commute, will make a real difference. You could also cycle or run to the pool to double up on sessions, simulate the triathlon transitions and save on showering.
