We take on some of the most epic races out there, because we want you to do the same!
There are some weather phenomena that meteorologists just can’t explain, and one is why it’s always guaranteed to be hot and sunny on the Sunday of the Eye 10K. Despite this, the race begins at 11am, time enough for the 3K Fun Run to take place and for the morning to get nice and toasty for those doing the 10K.
Despite having run the Eye 10k before and knowing that it was likely to be a tad warm, I was back to take on the 2024 race because there’s a lot to love about it, from the super simple race website to the bottle of beer instead of finisher medal. It’s a great example of a local race that others could replicate.
It cost me £13 to enter the race. If you hadn’t entered in advance and just woke up thinking it seemed like a nice sunny morning for a 10K, you could turn up and register on the morning for just £2 more. The race starts and finishes at a local primary school, which means you get to use proper flushing toilets and marvel at how low down the sinks are.
