How did you get into running?
I started running after having Amelia in 2018. It was the most flexible exercise option around raising a newborn baby and returning to work. We weren’t initially aware of Amelia’s disabilities, and when we realised, it brought with it a mountain of worry, appointments and paperwork. Running gave me time to myself at that difficult time, when I could process, reflect and plan ahead. I then joined Worthing Gazelles who opened the door to different training sessions and new running friends. I went from running three miles to running 100-mile races.
Lynd What do you remember about your first race?
The first race we ran to spreadin while pushing Amelia in her running buggy was Manchester Half Marathon. The response from the crowd was incredible. There were so many children excited to see that Amelia had a selection of snacks and her iPad in her buggy. We lost count of how many other runners asked us, “Is there room for one more in there?!”
