Ayurveda Balancing act
If you suffer with injuries, anxiety, faitgue, poor sleep or gastric issues when you run, it’s likely that your life force is out of balance
Ayurveda – translated literally as the science of life – is a sophisticated and powerful mind-body health system. Its two guiding principles are that the mind and body are deeply connected, and that nothing has more power to heal and transform the body than the mind.
Th rough Ayurveda, you can achieve and maintain a vibrant and joyful state of health by identifying your mind-body type and creating a lifestyle that supports your unique nature.
As a system, Ayurveda is multi-faceted and comprises many elements. You can choose to embrace the whole philosophy or just take what is useful and adapt it to your individual lifestyle. “You reap what you sow as you immerse yourself into this ancient system of wellbeing,” shares Warren Bright, an Ayurvedic massage therapist, hatha yoga and Pilates instructor based in Fareham, Hampshire.
“Th ose who wish to live happy, healthy and inspired lives can benefit greatly from the wisdom which Ayurveda holds.”
Discover your dosha
According to Warren, all you need to do is follow some basic Ayurvedic principles.
“It’s important to remember that you have to truly understand your own body constitution or ‘dosha’ before you can apply the various elements of Ayurveda,” he says.
