The Bath Half 2020: a timeline

We had our annual pre-event meeting with the Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Safety Advisory Group. At that point Covid-19, wasn’t even discussed. It was on no-one’s radar at that point.
Thursday 13 February 4 weeks to go
A week later, we met for our pre-event briefi ng meeting with our medical team. Our Medical Director is an A&E consultant and our clinical team includes NHS doctors and nurses who work for large events like Glastonbury in their holiday time. Our paramedic team is similar, and our fi rst aid is provided by St John’s Ambulance volunteers. At that meeting, we decided to introduce additional contingency plans for an on-site isolation facility, PPE and hygiene measures and a dedicated transport facility for anyone presenting with Covid-19 symptoms. I remember at that meeting there was a lot of technical discussion around dealing with Covid-19 patients and what the latest NHS protocols were. The way that we triage and treat patients all follows NHS guidelines.
