The cold and I don’t get on. I’m from a tropical island and I never look forward to running in the winter in the UK. As such, I really welcomed testing these tights. They are both warm and stylish, with a reflective design on the front to keep you safe at night. The fit is flattering and the highrise waistband adds to the comfort. The builtin baselayer keeps you warm and dry but doesn’t feel bulky, and the two pockets – one zipped – are a good size. At £75 for a pair of leggings, they are definitely on the expensive side but worth investing in for the winter season.

These slightly thicker leggings are brilliantly suited to cold days. The four-way stretch fabric moves well, and is on the firmer end of tightness. They’re not compression leggings but the hug is more towards that end than a loose Lycra. The high-rise waist sits just above the belly button and the waistband is lined with Merino wool for extra cosiness. Overall, the total Merino in the composition is lower than you might expect from the name (it makes up 56% of just the lining), but this is reflected in the reasonable price for any garment with Merino content. There are two great sized pockets, one on each hip and one of them includes a zip for extra security. So much better than having it at the back!
