needing to be strong to remain injury free, but have you ever thought about your core as the foundation of your strength? Having a strong core is the key to your body working in unison and keeping you running at full tilt.
Before we get into the exercises, let’s define what the core is. It’s important to realise that the core is not just your abs; it’s the group of muscles around your lower spine including your glutes and your back muscles as well as your abdominals.
Strong glutes are key to good running. As part of your core, not only are they the powerhouses that drive your legs to run, they also help to stabilise the spine and upper body.
