I had an exhausting time at the excellent Bournemouth Running Festival. I wasn’t running. My wife was. I was trying to support her, while simultaneously preventing our two excitable children from drowning in the sea.
Yes, it’s the time of year when my non-runner wife and I swap roles. I hate it, obviously. But I guess it’s only fair.
She ran the Bournemouth Half Marathon last year, her first ever running event, apart from one (painful) parkrun, and from only five weeks’ training. I was really proud of her for going from zero running, to covering 13.1 miles, and without walking or getting too angry about it all – raising money for charity too.
