Finally, some progress for women in poverty and in the fight for equal rights

In a historic steptowards gender equality, the UK government has eliminated the Period Pants Tax.
With a massive 21% of women and girls unable to afford period products in the UK, this is seen as a major win for proponents of menstrual hygiene and women’s rights.
The reduced price will make these products more accessible, as well as encouraging more to ditch disposables. It’s a massive step for the planet too, as these long-term re-usable solutions will help end the vast amounts of plasticriddled single-use period products from our oceans and landfill.
