Sometimes, simplicity is best, and this eight-move workout strengthens all the muscles you need to be a runner

If your New Year’s resolution is to get into running in 2024, then this home workout is a good place to start. We’ve created it so that you can build strength where you need it for running. You don’t need any fancy equipment either; just wear something comfy and grab two water bottles. You’re all set!
► Quick tip:
Each 500ml (or pint) of water adds approximately half a kilogram (or pound) to your workout, making it easy to increase your weight as you get stronger.
► Warm up
Run with high knees on the spot for 20 seconds. Place your hands on your bottom and run on the spot for 20 seconds flicking your heals up towards your bum.
