Drum roll… the winner of favourite marathon is London, one of the world’s most iconic and most loved races. But it’s not just its legacy that makes the London Marathon a winner; this year, it seems to have got better than ever before. With a virtual race available, many thousands of runners who miss out on a place in the ballot, can now take part in London (or anywhere else), get their prized finisher’s vest and a coveted London medal to boot. We think – and it seems you agree – the Virtual London Marathon is one of the biggest positives to come out of the Covid pandemic for the running community.
And seeing runners return to run through the capital’s streets last October, cheered on by its many diverse communities along every corner of the 26.2 route, showed just how much the public wanted to see it back.
