I’m a runner
Louise Minchin took part in a fundraising bike challenge for TV programme BBC Breakfast in 2012. She raced her fellow presenters around Manchester Velodrome and it was a day that would change her life. Th e competitive atmosphere and exhilaration of mastering a racing bike (with no brakes!) reignited her passion for sport.
As a teenager, Louise was a competitive swimmer, but gave it up aged 15. From then on, she did little sport until that life-changing bike challenge. She went out and bought herself a bike and took up cycling outdoors, along with a bit of running with her trusty companion, Waffle the golden Labrador.
