Natash running event I remember absolutely everything! Everyone always Runner, says, you never forget your scare first race, and that’s absolutely true for me. It was the London Marathon 2016. The surprising silence at the start is so loud as everyone’s nerves take over. It’s just you and the footsteps for about two miles. People running as far as the eye can see. The sound of the one million spectators all shouting your name, willing you to do your best. When you circle around Canary Wharf which feels like such a long stretch of the race. The pain cave, the discomfort, then coming out the other side. Legs cramping at mile 21. It’s all such a humbling experience. I loved sharing the journey with all the other people around me, who continued to inspire me the whole way. There is no other feeling like it in the world. Don’t get me wrong, it was the hardest thing I’d done up until then, but I ran with a smile on my face for 26.2 miles.
