Having to take a break from running can be a difficult period for any runner. It’s our hobby, our happy place, our me-time and the way we socialise with friends as well as the way we stay fit and healthy. So if you’re injured, and unfortunately unable to run, finding ways that you can still be active is important for maintaining both your fitness and your mental wellbeing.
Most runners will have to take time away from running at some point, whether it’s because of a full-on injury or just to help them recover from a big race. It might not be your first choice, but you may find that exploring different options away from running leads you to discover other activities you enjoy.
