We were pleasantly surprised with this chair, which was more functional and sturdier than anticipated. Set up instructions were easy to follow and it felt safe enough for a physical workout. The accompanying DVDs are self-explanatory standard American Pilates style workouts (while one of them didn’t work). With the chair itself, there were a couple of issues: the pedals weren’t deep enough to plant the whole ball of your foot, making standing exercises less functional, while the rounded handles provide no support for upright exercises. The choice of spring tension was more limited than a traditional Pilates chair, but on the whole a decent workout can be achieved at home.
