New research shows that many British runners don’t know about the benefits of recycling their old or unwanted kit.
The survey of over 1,000 runners carried out by the Runners Need chainstore looked into the eco habits of runners in the UK. It comes as the brand announces the return of its popular Recycle My Run initiative, which rewards those who recycle their trainers at a Runners Need store with a £20 voucher. The good news is that just over a fifth (21 per cent) of runners pass their old running kit on to friends and family. It seems we become more sustainably minded as we get older; in the survey, people aged 45+ are most likely to recycle their kit.
