Lizzie Harvey started running in June 2021 when a friend’s posts on Instagram about Run The Boroughs piqued her curiosity. “Being part of a group who aren’t all serious runners eased me into it,” she explains. “I went on Sundays to start with, thinking it would be a casual thing, but it wasn’t long before I was doing Wednesdays too. Then someone suggested going a bit further and, before I knew it, I’d entered the Hackney Half in May 2022! It just kind of just drip fed running into my routine.”
