During long runs and races liquid calories can be easier to consume than solid foods
The main nutritional priority for runners is consuming enough calories to support training. Although it’s preferable that those calories come from whole-food sources, in real life this can be difficult, which is where powders come in; they can be easily transported ready to be consumed as and when they’re needed. If a runner is looking to use a powder to enhance their running, the product they choose will depend on the event they’re taking part in, their habitual nutritional intake, their nutritional intake around an event, any intolerances they may have and when they will next be exercising.
