Highly recommended for multi-stage or longer events where you need greater volume in a bag, the Via Claw has tons of compartments to fulfil your kit dreams. Just as exciting for us trail adventurers, it’s made for women, which means it has a tailored fit across the sternum and chest plus a large waist-level belt to provide a close fit at the lower ribs, both of which ensure less bounce on the back when the pack is loaded up and heavier. This pack does have a different securing system than others, but it’s easy to get used to in one run. It has two large bottle spaces and two zipped pockets at the front, medium-sized side stash pockets, pole attachments and two larger back compartments (you can put more kit under the external bungees too), and it doesn’t hold on to – or get heavy with – sweat due to the internal fabric being completely mesh. I would have given it a score of 5 if two soft flasks/bladders had been included.
