There are tons of running shoes out there, and while we understand all of their idiosyncrasies, and their technology, we also entirely understand that to the average runner, it can be tough to choose between them. So this is the first in a series of in-depth articles examining new releases, so that we can really go under the bonnet and work out just what makes these shoes tick.
We start things off with the HOKA ONE ONE Clifton Edge. Why? Because sometimes a running shoe comes along that deserves more than just a cursory glance – and this is clearly a case in point. It’s an exciting mix of gorgeous and weird, and as soon as we set eyes on it, we wanted to know more about how the concept came about, and how this shoe was going to help us run better.
Part of the well-known and well-loved Clifton family, this is the first shoe in that fold to take a design swerve. But at its heart, the Edge is a Clifton: you still get that mega cushioning, and you also benefit from the light weight that you’d expect. Let’s take a closer look at the specs…
