Want to increase your sales in the USA? Author and publisher Rosemary J Kind explains how using Amazon Marketing Sales can find you readers

Writers are rarely natural marketeers. There are exceptions, but the normal character of a writer working in isolation is very different to that of a person who flourishes on human contact and talking to people. If you want anyone other than friends and family to read your writing then you have little choice but to spend time marketing.

The joy of Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) is that you don’t have to talk to anyone. Because you can only use AMS to promote your work in the United States, many UK writers overlook the opportunity. However, when you bear in mind the number of readers in North America then there is room for many different books, including those by UK authors.

Why advertise?

Different types of advertising can serve different purposes. AMS is purely about selling books. Indirectly it is likely to raise an author’s profile, but it is most directly about selling one particular title to the reading public. In my experience over the last few months, it achieves that purpose very effectively.
